Partnering with Universities

Partnering with Universities:

Halifax Independent School has enjoyed a long and close relationship with the universities in the region. It originated as a "lab school" at Dalhousie University, and was an important part of its teacher education programme for many years. After Dalhousie moved away from teacher education, the school formed a relationship with Mount Saint Vincent University, and there have been few years in which there was not at least one student teacher in the school. The school has also been involved in numerous research projects with regional universities and is proud of its record as a partner in research. Students have benefited from the extra learning opportunities involved, as well as from the expertise of university personnel.
